Zippos Circus

COVID-19 Information for Visitors

Zippos Circus

We have introduced a range of new health and safety measures that seek to reduce the risk associated with COVID-19. These are in line with Government advice and the requirements of local health authorities.

Helping to keep our visitors safe is of the utmost importance to Zippos Circus and we are delighted to have been awarded the Visit England ‘We’re Good to Go’ Industry Standard mark. This verifies that our circus has met the Government and public health guidance on COVID-19 and that we have the required health and safety processes in place to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable time at Zippos Circus.

Thank you in advance for your custom and understanding and we look forward to welcoming you to Zippos Circus!

September 2020 Update: Following the UK government announcement, we can confirm that Zippos Circus continued to have permission from the DCMS (Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport) to continue and was therefore open as usual!

October 2020 Update: Circuses are classed as an outdoor event so can continue to perform in certain 'Tiers'. Visitors must not mix with other households or bubbles inside the big top. Please do note that the 'Rule of Six' still applies in the area outside the circus tent.

In the event of government advice changing and the event being cancelled all tickets will be refunded.

The wearing of face coverings is now mandatory throughout our show for everyone over 11 years old. (Obviously, valid medical exemptions apply.)

Please make sure you have pre-booked tickets where possible.

Before leaving home check our website and social media for the latest information.

Arrive in plenty of time, at least 45 minutes before the show begins.

Please do not visit us if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.

We have toilets by the Big Top; but please also go before you leave home as they may be busy.

You do not need to visit our outdoor Ticket Office if you have pre-booked for the show please bring your tickets on your smartphone or printed. Just head straight to the Big Top entrance.

We have significantly reduced our seating capacity to allow for social distancing and suitable gaps between visitors. We now have a minimum booking of two tickets. You will be seated in your own household/party ‘bubbles’ in line with social distancing requirements. There must be no mixing of households. Our trained staff will help seat you.

We have also introduced social distancing within queues/toilets/food stalls and there will be clear signage throughout.

We will be doing random non-invasive temperature checks as a condition of entry. Anyone displaying a high temperature indicating a fever (37.8 degrees) will not be admitted.

We have installed hygiene screens at food stalls and have introduced enhanced cleaning measures to disinfect high-frequency touch-points. We will also deep clean between shows. Hand sanitiser stations will be available in all areas.

Our staff will use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)  as appropriate to protect themselves and our visitors.

We ask that you uphold the highest possible hygiene standards when sneezing or coughing and wash your hands/use hand sanitiser.

Please use contactless payments where possible.

Our staff are all COVID-19 trained to help keep themselves and our visitors safe.

Our performers will be separated from our visitors in line with social distancing requirements.

There will be no audience participation.

Please stay in your allocated seats during the show.

We have introduced enhanced ventilation/air-flow measures to help keep our performers and visitors safe in line with latest scientific advice.

We have introduced one-way entrances and exits. Please follow the signage and our staff directions.

Please leave in an orderly fashion following our staff directions and observing social distancing.

In line with social distancing, we are afraid that our performers will not be able to chat to or pose for photographers with visitors.
